DJINN

This collection explores the complex relationship between humans and the concept of jinn, rooted in Islamic and Middle Eastern folklore and inspired by childhood bedtime stories my mother told me. Through pen-and-ink illustration, I explored the four primary types of jinn and the 'armor' we create to protect ourselves from them, then translated that research into fabric, silhouette, and detail — wire-wrapped rings, braided rope bodices, and dark satin gowns — weaving a narrative of fear, protection, and nostalgia through the lens of fashion.
