Unbecoming

Unbecoming traces a silhouette from crisp ivory pleating and tiered ruffles into charcoal and black textiles built entirely by hand — checkerboard weaves, raw fringe, and layered sheer chiffon and tulle. The collection grew out of an Arabic/English title treatment and a mood board of tribal silver jewelry, a veiled figure, and vintage sepia photographs of South Asian women, developed through draping, pattern making, and off-loom weaving into a final 7-look runway lineup.
